You are right. The hero becomes oblivious to common sense. Those who post about how great the calls were miss the point. Money and success could have fostered family and community. Instead, it enhanced the desire for more adulation and for conquest, as shown by the endless, after the fact, goading and taunting. The distinction between the horrid promoter and the hero became blurred. Beating the analogy to death, residents of Gotham often wonder if there would be super criminals if Batman did not "protect" them. As for hedge funds, I remember the posts bragging about how many hedge funds were members of the pay site. Hopefully, how these things played out will be investigated and exposed. Were they simply looking for good information or was there a participation in a manipulative conspiracy?
