1 - we exhibit leadership and try to persuade the world to go along with us 2.- we can go it alone - and do everything our way. ...the philosophy behind our views and how we solve these problems are something else. Mary, I think you have the cart ahead of the horse. Before we can do either of those things we have to decide on a path. To decide on a path we need research, analysis, and decision making. You seem to want to skip those steps and shoot for the moon out of a belief that there is something majestic or holy about it that posterity will appreciate. I think that approach is ill considered, that instead we need to be smart and rational about it, and by doing so we will best serve our grandchildren. I suppose you can call that a difference in philosophy...
