I agree. Although I would say american culture has played a role in that over the years with their demand for health in a pill. They don't want to change their routine....they want a pill to fix the problem. The problem is, in many cases, the routine is the problem

Example....I have heartburn. I don't want heartburn. Give me something to fix it.

Nevermind the fact that I'm holding a 50oz coffee in one hand and a cigarette in the other

The drug reps aren't the ones who took the hippocratic oath. The fact that some doctors fall prey to marketing and ignore their hippocratic oath is the problem. Not trying to excuse the drug companies, but docs shouldn't be falling for every ad or sales trick in the book.
