CMA is the only independent left here. TCB has a decent presence (they're already started to down the slippery slope). NBD was bought by Banc One, who is now owned by JPM. Michigan National was bought by an Aussie bank a few years ago. I forget what name they are under now.

There are going to be some large financial institutions with some serious problems.

It's surprising how little bounce the subprimes have had. I covered half my LEND the other day, and I consider it lucky that I got back in yesterday a point higher. It didn't look too healthy today.

I think ACF is among the ripest of the ripe. I have no idea why it's hanging in so well. Gravity will be calling its name soon
