I tried to explain on that very thread how steel structures behave in extreme heat, like that of a fire caused by a full tank of jet fuel. Fat lot of good it did to the mindset of thread regulars, as you can see :-)

I can't find that post, but it was something like this:

Laz, myself, and XYZebra plastered that thread with theory & practice on this subject for a while, until they could say nothing else than "Yeah, well, we think it ain't so" or some such. Obviously, the lesson didn't stick, though...
