I think those promoting world democracy are doing it because those promoting are sure they can then propagandize to the masses and get whatever they want through the democratic process. Once world democracy is achieved, it would seem pretty simply enough to get the world to vote for increased powers to central world govt at the expense of individual rights and liberties. Just take the current US model (probably a test case) and apply it to the whole world. Create crises or react to crises with the answer always being higher world govt taxes, a bigger world govt bureaocracy, and fewer individual rights and freedoms in order to have peace and security.
