In fact, they are shown to be in political alignment with Chirac who definitely is considered right of center.

on the compass Chirac is left of the center with Schroder slightly to the right. I believe they are both left, Schroder somewhat to the right of Chirac but both left on the same horizontal line. Blair to me seems to be in a correct spot.
