You are not really getting what I say. SS is simply one sympton of the poor demographic trends. There are lots of other symptoms, much more serious in my view than SS, which these poor trends create. I don't really give a hoot about SS as it won't change much and we'll flounder into a solution somehow. A growing aged population supported by a smaller tax base is a recipe for national economic disaster. It is less important to fix the benefits side of the equation than it is to deal with root problem. If we do both, our country will be better off as a whole. Demographic trends cannot be ignored; we need to reverse them somehow.
