Compared to what? Teachers do well compared to laudary press operators. And teaching conditions are better. Compared to Fast food restaurant managers they are slightly underpaid, but much less stressed. Compared to garbage men...

All of the professions you cite above do not require a college degree. Civil servants make more money that teachers. Corp. execs make tons more money. Many of those execs. and civil servants only have a 4 year degree.

You get what you pay for......there are teachers that are dedicated to the teaching profession and stick it out. However, a lot of the good ones.....particularly the men and women with families.......leave because they need more money.

CPAs, doctors, lawyers, salespeople, insurance agents... even state workers...
