Speaking of nomenclature, I was thinking more on the word "insurgent." With respect to Iraq, I need to revise my remarks. I said that "insurgents" need support among the populace.

With respect to the four provinces of Iraq that are experiencing a lot of civil unrest, it appears that the perpetrators of violence have, if not universal or even broad support among the populace in general, at least support among a significant part of the populace, so are entitled to be called insurgents within that context.
