If life can be synthesized using clay, creationists will (assuming they wake up!) get the last laugh, God formed man from clay just like the Bible says! That might help bridge one of the red/blue chasms!

Using clays as RNA templates definitely has some potential. Ferris' work has been very important. Interesting that the same thing can be used for membrane formation. But we are still a long way from being able to pick up a Yahweh kit at Walmart and be able to make Volvox as a science fair project...
