"And what's up with Brazil?" Brazil has significant resources and population. They've been kept off the world stage because they were a dictatorship for a long while and their currency cratered a few years back. They are one of the world's biggest suppliers of things like land mines and cluster bombs... Two years ago, they elected a leftie.......a former mayor of Sao Paulo I believe. I suspect he does not have a lot in common with Putin or China except for his growing dislike of Bush. He just turned the Amazon into a national preserve. I am hoping that will turn out to be a good thing. ted
