teaching is probably a hell of a lot more fun and rewarding than chemical engineering. Thus, more supply of people who want to teach than become chemical engineers, thus lower pay.


Never saw it that way. It would explain why so many people keep trying to teach which screws up the macro supply/demand relationship and results in lower pay.
