and because of that, this next downturn will be much more widespread and deeper imo. i see no way around a worldwide recession. japan and germany are already at three quarters of neg gdp. how long before the rest of the countries follow? not long imo. i see us hitting q2 minus gdp in late 2005 early 2006

If the powers that be had behaved sensibly, Bush probably would have lost the election. I have little doubt that this was a key factor behind Greenspan's ultra easy monetary policy.

But now that the election is over, they can start to take some punch out of the punchbowl.
