"We're not, dammit..."

Well, you are an outlier...

In many places, particularly the obsessive/compulsive Brits, records show that Spring tends to spring earlier and ranges of warmer temp. organisms tend to be moving more northley. If that isn't true for the blue-staters, then you just aren't with the program...

For several years now, the Brits have reported insects and birds normally found in the Mediterranean region of Europe........roughly a thousand+ miles away.

My citrus is starting to flush. Everything else is starting to bud. Again, not that is any good indication. Almonds tend to do poorly in this area because they start to bud and then we get a freeze at exactly the wrong time. In general, this is about the time of year we start to plant.

We have a mild climate so things tend to bloom earlier here than they do in most of the east coast and midwest. However, this year things are earlier than ever.........cherry trees blooming in mid January; daffodils blooming in early Feb. Both are 3-4 weeks early. Rose bushes that weren't pruned in the Fall have been blooming all winter and the grass never turned brown. On some days, 70 year old temp. records were broken.

But, in truth, none of this would be significant; in fact, it could be seen as an aberration if there wasn't an overall trend in place. Unfortunately, there has been a trend of warmer temps for over a decade.

However, I wouldn't mind if there was skepticism coming from the GOP camp. But its not skepticism but outright derision that we hear from them......which leads me to say:

Stupid is as stupid does!
