My 18 month old daughter picked up a
digital thermometer yesterday. She
turned it on...it beeped--so she put
it up to her ear and said hello.

I would also like to report that a
rack of pork ribs is currently working
through my system. Both my daughters
love pork and beef. Wife thinks it is
horrible.

I think maybe you believe when researchers say a pig is as smart as a three-year-old human, that seems offensive to you in some way. They are not saying that a human and a pig are exactly the same. They are saying that as far as problem solving, emotional intelligence, expression of feelings, perhaps, that a pig is at that level of development compared to human beings. The human beings continue to develop, of course, and the pig is already functioning at an adult level.
