One of the things I am concerned about is what would be the motivation for the governments of Eire and England to come out so strongly accusing McGuiness and Adams of IRA membership at this time. It seems to me that it is very definitely in everyone's best interest to have a power sharing government in Northern Ireland that is working, and this revelation would totally blow that apart.

The British government spends about a billion dollars a year in Northern Ireland because the situation is so messed up. English people really don't care, and don't strongly support the Prods because they have been so gross, with their Orange marches and all the violence. So the best result for Ireland and England is that Sinn Fein/IRA were not involved in the robbery.
