It was "bubble like", but maybe it was pretty small as bubbles go, at least small compared to the whole economy, not small compared to the actual profits and realistic value of the assets of many of the companies involved. Maybe small bubbles are indeed good for the economy, at least if they are a way to get investment in totally new things. Evslin makes an interesting argument. OTOH bubbles do cause a lot of money to be invested inefficiently so its a debatable point IMO.
