Thomas Friedman Still Won't Give Bush Credit

By Bob Kohn

I've been meaning to praise some of the recent columns by Thomas Friedman, including When Camels Fly, appearing on Sunday, and Hama Rules, appearing last Thursday.

Weird, though, how he neglects to credit President Bush with any of the good news flowing from the Middle East. In neither of the above pieces does he even mention the president.

Perhaps the Times still has a policy, most recently formulated by former managing editor Gerald Boyd, of not allowing the paper's regular columnists to openly disagree with the editorial page.
