The result from one recent survey on N. Korea issue done by Beijing Sociology Research Institute (NPO):

54% of the respondents surveyed think China should leave N. Korea alone if they insist on developing nuclear weapons.

93% of them think the US has used double standard on dealing with the nuclear issue in N. Korea in order to have N. Korea stop developing nuclear technology.

89% of respondents said they are against the US hostile policy towards N. Korea.

And when asked whether they are willing to support N. Korea to resist the US in case of invasion, 57% said they are willing to support N. Korea, 24% neither agree nor disagree, and 19% were against.

So the Chinese gov. has to consider these public opinion when dealing with the N. Korea issue.
