So is there some sort of ETF or some other instrument that does own gold?

Ork, do you agree with James Turk? I do not. IMO GLD is gold and launch of GLD and IAU is a very important event.

<<<Since launching in November 2004, GLD has gathered some $2 billion of assets. Its sponsors would have us believe that this $2 billion is newly created gold demand, but this proposition is self-evidently preposterous given that the gold price has fallen $30 since GLD was launched.>>>

Very crooked logic. So if GLD is "real" then POG may not fall any more?

exactly, GLD is not an alternative to physical gold
GLD is a device which works to remove gold foundations
GLD redirects physical demand into the cartel's lair
GLD is built on a paper structure meant to deceive
first and foremost, GLD is more paper, not more metal

here is a key question to ask...
if the Peoples Bank of China wants to purchase gold,
will they purchase it from GLD ???

I say "not a chance in hell"

It seems pretty clear that GLD is just ammo for the commercials to control gold. It is supposed to track gold but if you watch futures trade compared to GLD, there is a big spread.

Also these guys take in the money which is supposed to be converted to bullion and then they dont buy any bullion for a month. Then they use the funds to knock down the price of the futures so they can buy below the price at which they sold the GLD shares to the public.

Total rip off
