Actually, there are no restrictions against taking short positions in IRAs except for naked short positions.

I don't trade options in IRAs, but this is possible. I do take short positions via mutual funds, in fact for the past week or so I have had a pretty sizeable short position in several retirement accounts against QQQQ, via mutual funds leveraged 200%.

Rich,

I have been preoccupied with some projects today. I tend to do that when I see the market flush as it did.

I’ll do a chart and post it in the morning that will give guidance; unless Terry beats me to the punch.
