Panic selling will elicit a much tighter stance by Greenspan IMHO, much as he might hate to do it.

A recession would pose much less risk to the system than a dollar panic and possible loss of status as THE reserve currency.

it doesn't make a lot of sense. why would someone who has a shitload of something to sell announce to the world that they are going to sell it? they'd get a much higher price by quietly unloading
