Hi Rich, Okay... it's just that this is a common misconception about IRAs. Selling covered calls (and covered puts as well, for that matter) against core positions can be a sound long-term strategy, IMHO. Personally, I think it is even more wise to combine that with purchasing puts against long positions to blunt downside risk, assuming the position in question is a long-term core position. T
