You think that this country went to war in Iraq, because we like war? I don't think liking or disliking has anything to do with it. What cost do Bush, Rove, Rummie, Cheney, Frist etc pay? They don't have kids in the military and its not their millions footing the bill. They could care less about liking or not liking. Its about oil, money, and imperial aspirations.......in that order. hat's stupid. No one likes war, but sometimes it is necessary. The Middle East boiling cauldron has boiled over and continues to burn us badly. It didn't boil over until Bush turned up the heat. It is and was no longer an option for us to do nothing. We had to force the issue and because we did, we now have Afghanistan a democracy, You think Afghanistan is a democracy? Karzai can't leave Kabul and be safe. He is an American puppet......think soviet satellites. Do some more research. Kazi Iraq well on its way, Well on its way? No where close. Lebanon a very likely next step, and other countries reforming. Are they? We'll see. Middle easteners make great speeches......and nothing else. Go back through time and read the speeches by Egyptian prime ministers starting in the 1950s. According to those speeches, Egypt should have been a democracy six times over by now. Guess what.......its still nowhere close. Same with the Husseins of Jordan, both father and son. The Saudis don't even try with the glib democratic words. The prince of Qatar pulled a castle coup in 1996 and threw out his father. He now dabbles in democracy. However, read the fine print.......he can pull the democratic changes any time he wants. How about the Algerians or the Tunisians or the Morrocans.....try, try, try as they may to implement democracy over the past 50 years, it just has never taken. The ME is a rough neighborhood. Bush wouldn't have bothered if it hadn't been for the oil.Your do nothing policy would have resulted in achieving nothing. Do nothing? You don't know me very well. Some of us realize that gain means pain and are willing to pay the price so that our children can have better lives. When they become 17, will you send them over to fight? Do you have any kids, tejek? If not, then it may be difficult for you to understand what I mean. Of course not, you have to have children to understand the concept of no pain, no gain. ted
