All that is required for one to have special attachment to any ideology is to grow up in it. You don't even need that. You can have a special attachments in minutes in some cases. I'm not talking about individuals but national culture. If you want to preserve long and deeply held traditions that is considered conservative. If you personally grew up with something that was very different than the main stream culture of your society an attempt to preserve it isn't conservative, at least not in the same way. Well, that is Ronnie's heritage. To an extent, but also the heritage of the congress at that time (and since) and the people who created the entitlement programs. Tim
