It will start appearing in PCs in the second half of 2005, said Theresa DeOnis (can I buy a vowel, or two?), desktop brand manager for AMD.

Toledo can be used in notebooks, DeOnis said, but it has a 110-watt thermal envelope, relatively high for a notebook chip.

whoops!

This is good news (maybe), but I have a couple of questions.

In the gamer desktop market, Intel will come out with a dual core-chip for high-end PCs this year that will also sport HyperThreading

Any idea what this is? The article also mentions Smithfield, so I assume it's something else. But if this is in reference to Smithfield, isn't HyperThreading supposed to be disabled.

Toledo can be used in notebooks, DeOnis said, but it has a 110-watt thermal envelope,

Is this accurate? I thought it was 95W.

More AMD dual core articles, although nothing really new:
