The right is prepared to spend whatever it will take to prove that Iraq can be democratic.........a dubious enterprise at best. Not surprising, they turn around and warn that the goals of Kyoto may not be attainable [and what's not said........that is, we are not willing to spend the money to insure they will be attainable].

The amount of money lost from Kyoto (esp. if we don't go massively into nuclear power) is most likely orders of magnitude above the total that will be spent in Iraq, even if you also add the war in the early 90s, and the containment and inspection effort between the two wars.

Exxon is a one trick pony where hydrocarbons are its primary source of business. Kyoto wants to reduce the destruction of hydrocarbons in the world. The goals of Kyoto are very attainable but in the process they may hurt Exxon's profits. Therefore, Exxon will talk down Kyoto

You realize that if your trying to argue that Exxon's statements are wrong based on the above argument you are showing the textbook example of the ad-hominem falacy.
