What would it take to convince you that its gotten worse? Some actual evidence might be a start. But that is asking a lot, and I don't mean that sarcastically. Its difficult to produce real evidence about something like this. Just as science can be subject to political manipulation the issue of science being subject to such manipulation is itself subject to political biases and distortions, many of which may not even be deliberate.
