So? Reality has very little to do with an analysis...

Tim clearly doesn't understand what it was like then, like he clearly doesn't understand the implications of running a higher deficit.

The draft ended, by a couple of months, before I was eligible. By that point, things had wound down to the point that, combined with going to college, I probably didn't have anything to worry about. But I definitely was aware of what it was like.

Which is close to meaningless as a response to my argument. Its meaningfull in terms of your personal history but it doesn't change the fact that only a small percentage of healthy adult men were drafted at that time.

Now you can argue with this if you want... but essentially you are calling me a liar. So before I lose my temper, I'm going to end the conversation.

I'm not calling you a liar, I'm calling you mistaken. There where tens of millions of draft age men in the US during the Vietnam war. You didn't have tens of millions of Americans fighting in Vietnam. Its really very simple.
