CJ, Easy enough to guess the why, though. Some politician is up for election. Casting about for an "issue", he winds up with a "family values" theme. But what to address?

Yep, another politician trying to buy more votes. Drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes is one thing, but sex toys?

P.S. - I'll sidestep the question of "need" for such devices ...

The strategy works. Sometimes though, it will blow up in their face. For example, one time in Santa Fe(no, not that one, the one in Texas) a local preacher started railing against the Playboy channel on the local cable service. He finally got a proposal to ban it on the ballot, only to see it go down(so to speak) in flames when it came up for a vote. Over 80% of the residents voted it down...

I can't imagine thinking a playboy channel as risque.

Tell me again, why you like living there.
