If the plaintiffs win, it will affect the stem cell companies on a negative way since there will be less money available for grants.<g>

The California Institute for Regenerative Medicine and similar ones founded in other estates was a way of bypassing some of the restrictions on SC's research from president Bush's directives.

The companies that use ASCs will be less affected than those using ESCs.

The groups that filed the lawsuits are trying to invalidate what California voters approved in November on Proposition 71 by a 59% margin.

I have no idea how the courts will decide, but whenever the attorneys get involved, the field gets muddled or muddy.<g>

As I mentioned on my note on MUCL and ASTM they have been benefiting by the fact that ASCs are not affected by the recent setbacks on ESCs.<g>
