When Saddam dropped nerve gas on the Kurds, we were right there selling him the precursor chemicals.

To the extent that we sold precursor chemicals to Saddam's regime its somewhat regrettable but these where not for the most part unusual or highly restricted items. They where not chemicals that Saddam would have found it hard to get if American companies were forbidden to sell them to him, they are mostly the same chemicals used to make pesticides.

The standard automatic "talking point" having been dealt with you might also want to check to see how relevant your comment is to the specific discussion. As much as you don't like Bush I doubt you think that he is like Saddam. If we had a president that I disliked and/or had severe political disagreements with I wouldn't want some foreign power coming and kicking him out, but if I was ruled by a regime like Saddam's things might be a bit different.
