I think it is a small province that has implemented Sharia and trying to flex their Quranic muscle over the federal level. Something a kin to Judge Moore trying to flex his 10 commandments piety over the federal law of the land.

But then I could be wrong. I will wait for someone to disprove me :-)

Indonesia already has religious courts which handle disputes about marriage or inheritance, but not criminal cases.
