CFA,

If I had my 'druthers, I'd be at Blockuster in a flash. But because they can't tell me if a movie has CC (closed caption) or not, I have to stay put. All your opinions are shared by me and I thought I was the ony one thinking that way.

I confess I have not tried the Blockbuster on-line service myself. I do not like their in-store service, however, and I think that the recent "no late fees" nonsense is yet another indication that management isn't serious about serving the customer. But in all honesty I cannot give an opinion based on direct experience. From what I've seen, their selection of more obscure and foreign movies is not nearly as good as Netflix'.

I've been using Netflix for three months...I'd say we're very heavy users, but have not yet experienced any of the problems you mentioned. We almost always have a two-day turnaround -- i.e. it gets to them the day after we mail the return, and their shipment arrives at our house the day after they ship it. I do wish they worked on Saturdays though.

Any opinions about investments in home/personal entertainment industry?
