Otellini's Blog>
Overall the Blog is a very good idea, and I liked his blog style. This is a substitute for an informal chat between the President of a small company with 10 - 15 professional employees, and where everyone airs the issues. The only problem with a blog is that the comments find their way into the media, and the media and the competition put their own spin on the comments.

It is good to see Otellini focussed on the right issues, and that he is not the Pollyana depicted in the media.

I am getting interesting comments from my HP friends about Carly. They were dancing at HP when her exit was announced !She was unpopular because she strayed away from the paternalistic "HP way". The HP strategists were also dismayed by her lack of vision for the computer marketplace. She was comfortable in the consumer marketplace, and HP is now getting into consumer electronics, which in not a HP core strength. Her Rock Star behavior did not sit well either with HP employees. She went on frequent business trips and she always travelled on the corporate jet with her own make up artist.

According to people at HP, Carly was an excellent salesperson with lots of charisma, but "lacked depth" and was not a good choice for a CEO. I wonder how a Carly blog would have sounded.
