If H5N1 avian influenza arrived without an available treatment, I would place my personal bet on interferon-alpha.

I've taken that shit before, and it is a very unpleasant drug. if the world has to take that to survive, a lot of people are going to die. it's not as easy as taking pills, and giving yourself intra-muscular injections that make you feel terrible isn't enjoyable. it beats dying, and I will be the first in line, but I have a hard time seeing every J6P doing it. maybe when their neighbor dies.

it sure wouldn't be good for the stock market <g/ng>
