Those who use the equipment, however, say there's also a desperate need for more "boots on the line" to track and catch illegal immigrants. "The technology is great, but it doesn't actually go out and get the bodies," says Jim Stack, an agent in El Paso. "We are extremely short-staffed."story.news.yahoo.com A friend of mine that's from South America, said there are a lot of illegal immigrants from her country that are residing somewhere around San Jose and Campbell areas. She said they are very, very, very bad criminals. Super bad. Very, very scary people she said. It's the only time she has ever used the word "very" repeatedly to describe anyone in all the years we've been friends. Even she complained about the illegal immigrants from her country. Meanwhile, INS tosses in jail educated people that get their visas messed up due to bad immigration lawyers that illegally collected money without processing their visas. I mentioned this already, but one guy was arrested under the "Patriotic Act" (read: some low level person in immigration was probably so overloaded they inappropriately used the Patriotic Act as an excuse not to process people timely - because with the Patriotic Act you can handle the backlog by putting people in jail for months without contact to the outside world - in his case his family didn't know where he was for several months - that would be enough of a scare to give a heart attack to a parent.) Rummy had better make sure immigration isn't abusing the Patriotic Act as a way to handle their backlog. It's super duper ironic how we make it difficult for smart PhD students to enter our country (that could potentially help future GDP), meanwhile we allow some of the world's absolute worst criminals into California's Bay Area. How hard is it to hire someone from her country to show officers where the plethora of criminals are and remove them from the Bay Area? Would love to see the Mercury News (which is known for excellent investigative stories) do an investigative story on some of these horrible criminals. Why do we let criminals into this country, but not PhD students? It's ironic how we arrest intelligent PhD students but let the criminals roam free. Better technology should be created to keep criminals from entering our borders because she said that's how they are entering into the US. Regards, Amy J
