Re: poodles. WaPost just carried an article about truffles growing in North Carolina, and the truffle farmer uses standard poodles to find them.
washingtonpost.com

My dad has standard poodles. They are very intelligent, good with children, affectionate, and don't shed. Really don't shed. You have to give them haircuts, otherwise, they look like sheep that got lost and never sheared.

I was hoping to be a German Shepherd or a Border Collie. Retook the test with Nick looking over my shoulder suggesting answers ("lazy, affectionate, aggressive" [last time I marked myself "lazy" and "affectionate" but not "aggressive" -- actually last time I marked myself both "lazy" and "hard working" since both are true] and only "good" with children) and came out a Bearded Collie.

But I cheated. I put "adaptable" rather than "indoor" because after all, I do like to go places, although it's not exactly what I think of when I think of "outdoor" which is walking around on foot (or horseback or paddling) in the Great Outdoors.

Hi Rambi...I had never seen a Barbet before....they are cute...but that hair would be a nightmare to groom. But then I like almost all dogs, and of course, some better than others.

We love our Papillon named Caesar!

Caesar looks like the fellow on the right that is standing having his picture taken. Except his face coloring is a little darker..he's called a Sable. They are truly darling dogs.
