thanks for the explanation, and also for the comments on the different tax treatment of CEF vs GLD. it will be interesting to see if GLD gains the favorable treatment as well as noted by regli's post on the Senate bill.

i wonder if that will affect CEF's spread. given that the expense ratio and "administrative fees" add up to nearly 1%, a slightly discount to NAV would seem reasonable except for the silver.
