Friedman should stick to pure FP matters. His economic analysis reaks of Krugonomics. Sure the double deficits need to be dealt with but having them was the only way to get those euros and asians to pay for the war. American consumer drives the worlds engine. Want to stop the war in iraq scott--get your buds to stop buying bigger houses and buying hummers and also sorts of home furnishings. Then the euro/asian addiction to the dollar will stop. But dont hold your breath. Having said that--yes it is time to start to deal with double Ds without killing off the goose.
