"I can't seem to find any negative news on the stock. Is there something I'm missing?"

You are missing the history of this stock.

Q is a very labile stock and if you read through the history of this thread or the first 20k posts on Yahoo - it is apparent that there are many people out there who either want to actively manipulate the stock or (more likely) think they are manipulating the stock.

I think the single best explanation for volatility is seldom any hard news about the prospects of the company - but the way that large holders buy and sell the stock. The move yesterday will probably be explained in retrospect by an institutional holder reaching their sell criteria and selling a large amount.

I would guess that is usually the reason that Q moves up and down on no news.

Another interesting piece of data to support this theory is that 12 month short interest is essentially at the 12 month low (slightly lower only in December).

One lesson I have learned the hard way is when this happens to a stock, check insider sales. wj
