Because:

a) Harmony likes to make money....

and

b) Harmony figures if they wait a few months they can scoop the lot for pennies on the dollar of what it would cost now

and

c) Harmony's management is still getting pilloried for the ill-fated decision to take over GFI and they're not in a hurry to pile into another one.

I thought the same thing earlier, when they were trading at 78 cents....if it goes much lower they'll get taken out. But unless the rand turns, soon and big, I think they're toast.
