Maybe Novak spilled the beans. And speaking of Novak, I wonder if he has or had any connection to Gannon.

It is possible that Party Time is correct, that Novak spilled the beans and Fitzgerald is simply seeking corroboration. But that seems far fetched to me. I think we are looking at a cover-up in process. The convoluted attack by Fitzgerald on non-reporting reprorters surely is meant to create some sort of useful legal precedent for the propaganda machine.

On another note, I've just started John Perkins' "Confessions of an Economic Hit Man". I see what you mean about the story being long on entertainment value and short on hard analysis. There was an astonishing crony capitalist system being created in Indonesia in the early 1970s by Suharto. Perkins simply glosses over this sort of thing. More on this subject later.....
