Well I was a mechanic back in the late 70's so perhaps things have changed. Actually I know they've changed but the big 3 back when I was working on them were not good to be kind:) I remember a guy coming in the shop one Sunday morning and telling me that his car wouldn't start and he had to get back to Madison that day. Conversation: My car won't start and I need to have it fixed today. What kind of car do you have? Pontiac GTO How many miles on it? 35000 The timing chain is out of it I will order the parts and send the wrecker. You haven't even looked at my car how can you know whats wrong with it? It's a Pontiac, it has over 20K miles and it won't start, it's a timing chain. Guess what, it was and the guy was amazed. I was saddened because yet again I was right.
