As a hedge against the US Dollar falling I have bought a global Bond fund. If one wanted to get more speculative they could buy other currencies.

There's an internet bank that sells a $10,000 CD divided up into 4 currencies. IT's FDIC insured against the bank going under, but not, of course, of a change in value due to change in currency value.
