After free elections in countries alien to elections like Afghanistan, Iraq and Palestine change of attitudes accelerating, it use to be rubber stamping of single candidate for Presidency in Egypt, a mockery of elections, now others have a chance too.

Today ME is ripe for freedom of expression, the catalyst to these changes are the policies of international community post 911 - President Hosni Mubarak said on Saturday he had asked parliament to amend Egypt's constitution to allow anyone to stand in presidential elections in which all citizens will be eligible to vote by secret ballot.
