Building a $200 million bridge to nowhere ?"

Pork barrel projects have always been around. Used to be, the Republicans complained about the Democrats doing it. Now that the Republicans control the government, they apparently feel they have to make up for lost time. The post-9/11 trend is to slap an "anti-terrorism" or "national security" label on it, or add it to legitimate bills that deal with those issues...

This bridge along with other expensive pork projects were initiated by the GOP Congress both before and after Bush got elected the first time.

It has gotten pretty bad. Since Smirk was elected, it has mushroomed. I suspect it won't get any better anytime soon. The Republicans got the keys to the bank, and they are looting it for all it is worth...
cagw.org;

The GOP has turned pork into fine dining.........they have produced some of the best and most expensive pork in this country's history.
