Michael, It must have really pained CNN to report this. The bias at CNN is palpable. For example - when the report on French Finance Minister Herve Gaymard they only report on a minor scandal causing him to resign: cnn.com What they don't tell you is that the unemployment rate rose to 10% in January. Negative news about France just won't do. In fact while you can find this news on the BBC and even on CBS - you cannot find a single article on CNN about it at all. With the two major Euro economies posting 10% and 11% unemployment, low or negative growth and compiling deficits that, as a percentage of GDP, are higher than than the US - the Euro appears to be a bubble trade.
