The beaches were much cleaner.....almost pristine. And the water was clear and clean also. When people take the time and make the effort, it doesn't take long to rectify problems

Yeah, I took a few trips to Ocean City and Atlantic City in the mid-90s and it was better, but in the 80s it was horrific.

Last time I was in Ocean City, around 96 or so, the beach was eroded almost to under the boardwalk. A classmate of mine from Jersey says it hasn't improved, which is a shame. I always liked the boardwalk and beach there. The water is better, but the beach is gone. :/
